As I have already stated, I have not played any Final Fantasy Games, and so I am very unfamiliar with the storyline.
From what I understand, some sort of illness is killing humans. A trio of brothers, who hold the potential cure, what to use it to ressurect or summon someone they refer to as "Mother" as use her/it to destroy the world (Midgard), rather than save mankind. These leads to a journey of the Games main protagonist Cloud to stop them and retrieve the cure.
Even though the film is 6 years old (came out in 2004), the CGI is really amazing. There are even times when I thought I was watching a live action movie!
The character develop of Cloud, from a depressed ex soldier to a determined hero is very well done. One of the reasons why I didn't give this film 5 stars however is the fact that the film introduces characters that it expects you to know. Another reason why I didn't give this film 5 stars is that the English Dub can be quite bad sometimes, but the Japanese with subtitles is very good. But considering how low priced this film is I would certainly consider purchasing it. Hope this review helps.
